God has made you a neighbor for a purpose!

Whether we feel compelled to go or content to stay, we are called to love our neighbors. The directive to show love comes from the Lord (Mark 12:28-31, NIV): “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. In an everyday sense, loving our neighbors is done by listening to and caring for the people around us.

God has filled our lives with real relationships. These relationships are natural bridges to our neighbors who we are called to love. Together we must practice building better bridges to our neighbors. Bridge building is very important and we need to develop compassion and sensitivity as we build so that we reflect God’s heart for the world.

When we show kindness and compassion to our neighbors and the people we work with, He demonstrates through us a little bit of Himself to others. Our God is a mighty King and when we spend ourselves for the sake of others we show them what kind of a King we have. We reflect His glory like mirrors when we show that the King’s people are being made like Him because they have been made His children by the powerfully transforming grace of the Risen Son.

Your Mission is to hear the voice of your King commissioning you to live among your neighbors in a way that demonstrates your belief that a new kingdom has come and the King is making all things new.
